Another FO - Scarf for sister-in-law

This is a scarf made from Tonalita, from Trendsetter Yarns 52% wool, 48% acrylic.

The pattern came free with the purchase of the yarn. I think I made more curlycues than what the pattern required, but I liked them.

The scarf was made for my Sis-in-law mainly because I didn't get her bathrobe done in time for Christmas. I thought this might tide her over until I am finished with it. She loved it!!!

This is the label of the Tonalita yarn but the ball of yarn here is a different colorway from the one used for the scarf above.

I have started a Chemo Cap for the Caps for a Cure project. Free pattern here. I need to make at least 1 per month and I would like to make more items for charity. The Berroco Chinchilla yarn is wonderfully soft and when my mother had lost her hair to cancer treatments, the Chinchilla was wonderful against her bald head. The drawback is that it is Dry Clean Only due to it being 100% Rayon. In the Caps for a Cure project, they prefer them to be machine washable but I can tell you my mother didn't mind dryclean only when it came to comfort on her head. (I wonder if the Dryel that is on the market would work?) I am knitting this on Size 8 Knitpicks Harmony, 16" circ.

You finished the scarf! I love it.

I've been a little busy with small projects myself. My French Market Bag is done. I've done 2 Calorimetries this weekend and a kerchief for my dog. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

See you soon.

We just placed an order for Tonilita yarns at the shop last week. I am looking forward to the delivery, as it appears to be a very nice yarn. Your scarf came out beautiful! Nice to see an example.

I am doing ok with my charity knitting, but not Capsforacure. You need to spur me on!! So - it doesn't HAVE to be machine washable - that was my big hangup. I need to scurry thru my stash again and see what I can come up with.

I love that scarf, it is very wimsical with the little bits on the sides! I am sorry I never emailed back, but like I said on my blog, it has been insane around here! I am almost done with one project I am working on and making great headway with my socks, I am hoping for pictures soon!
