More Spinning, Knitting and cooking

I'm very excited about my newest finished 2-ply. It's a mixed fiber combination. The Stained Glass BFL (blogged about here) is plied with a pink merino/tussah silk. I'm really excited about it. I was so excited that when I placed the skein on the niddy noddy, I forgot to check yardage before taking it off. It still needs a bath so maybe I'll re-skein it and check it then. Does anyone else ever forget to check yardage? I also purchased some Suri Alpaca fiber in black. This looks and feels like a silky human ponytail. It's eerie.

I joined a group of spinners (mostly wheel spinners) that meet once a month. It was fun, got lots of spindling done and I also got to try the Hansen Mini-Spinner hands-on. I loved it and took to it pretty quickly. I think there would still be a learning curve to spin the finer weight as I like to do, but I think I'm adding that baby to my wishlist.

On the knitting front, I still have several projects on the needles. The newest item is the Baby Hoodie from Bernat. (Rav link) I'm knitting it with Plymouth Coffee Beenz so it can be easily washed. Not sure who it's for at the moment, it will probably go in the gift box.

As for the cooking part of this post. If you don't already follow the Pioneer Woman Cooking blog, you should. She has some fabulous recipes as well as accompanying photos to die for. I tried the Sour Cream Hamburger Noodle Bake last night (link) and it was a huge success in my house. Delicious!
